If time is short, here is a cruise you can take during a long lunch hour: Island Wind Tours' hour; Island Wind Tours' hour-and-a-half long cruises from Tarpon Springs' Sponge Docks to Anclote Key. Their regular departure times are 1 PM. 3 PM. 5 PM. daily, weather permitting. Call 727- 934-0606 for current departure times.
On board the ISLAND WIND sails in the beautiful waters along the coast of the gulf of Mexico where passengers can experience wildlife at its best. They say about 80 percent of the time passengers see dolphins leaping from the water.
"Sometimes they put on a show - jumping out of the water and spinning. You think you're at Sea World," said John Billiris, whose son, Michael, owns the company. The 3-month-old Island Wind, a 60-foot, double Decker power catamaran, can carry up to 140 passengers. A full bar offers drinks and snacks; lunch cruises are available during the spring.
